An IP address (Internet Protocol address) is an assigned number that distinguishes your computer from other computers on the Internet. Every time you connect to the internet, you are assigned an IP address that is either static, meaning it never changes, or dynamic, meaning it changes every time you logon to the Internet. To find out if you have a static or dynamic IP address you will have to contact your current Internet Service Provider (ISP). If you are concerned about Internet security make sure your ISP uses a Dynamic IP address. Static IP addresses make you an easy target since they don?t change.
