Without land line phone service, you will be unable to use dial-up, DSL, or one-way satellite Internet service. Dial-up, DSL, and one-way satellite Internet services require land line phone service to operate. Internet services that do not require land line phone service include the following three options: Cable, two-way satellite and wireless Internet service. High speed cable Internet service is the cheapest of the three and uses the same cable as your TV. Two-way satellite is the most expensive, but is often times unreliable in certain weather conditions like heavy rain or snow. Wireless Internet service which can be purchased through a cell phone provider like AT&T or Verizon, is slightly more expensive than cable, but provides the freedom of mobility. The only downside to wireless Internet service is its dependency on cell tower coverage to function.
